Three wanted Islamic Jihad terrorists killed in IDF activity

In the course of a joint IDF and ISA arrest activity which was held tonight with the purpose of arresting wanted Islamic Jihad terrorists in the Jenin area, five Islamic Jihad terrorists were arrested by security forces. An IDF force which arrived in an open field near the village of Burkin, southwest of Jenin, identified two gunmen. When the two noticed the force and raised their weapons to fire at the soldiers, the soldiers opened fire and the two were killed. Information about the two: Samir Yichya Tsaber Shalabi, 25, resident of Burkin. A wanted Islamic Jihad collaborator who had been involved in numerous shooting attacks. Nidal Mahmad Ibrahim Halaf, 35, resident of Burkin, wanted for involvement in shooting attacks against IDF forces in the area of Jenin. In another incident, a Palestinian gunman opened fire at IDF forces in the Casbah of Jenin and was killed in the exchange of fire that followed. The man, Samir Ahmad Abdallah Sa'adi, 35, a wanted Islamic Jihad terrorist, had been involved in shooting attacks against IDF forces in the Jenin area. During the activity, Palestinians opened fire at IDF forces and threw two pipe bombs at the soldiers. No injuries or damage were reported.


Jerusalem businessman Sasson Nuriel kidnapped and slain by a Hamas terrorist cell

The participation of Hamas in the PA elections would be nothing more than a bid by this group of Islamist extremists to seize power from moderate Palestinians who are interested in coexistence with Israel.

Israeli security officials announced today  that Jerusalem businessman Sasson Nuriel was kidnapped and slain by a Hamas terrorist cell last week. His bound body was found in Beitunya, near Ramallah. Nuriel, 55, was the owner of a candy factory in the Mishor Adumim industrial zone near the capital. Hamas claimed responsibility for his abduction and murder in a video it broadcast worldwide on Tuesday. This terrorist organization is responsible for the kidnap-slayings of nine other Israelis since 1989 and is thought to be resuming them for use as a bargaining tactic against Israel. Nuriel's gruesome slaying comes against Hamas's declaration on Sunday that it would halt its Kassam rocket and mortar attacks on southern Israel from the Gaza Strip, apparently in a bid to win inclusion in the upcoming Palestinian Authority elections.
