ANTISEMITISM SPECIAL REPORTS

PA leadership mandates the killing of Jews - up to and including genocide - as a religious obligation.

A fundamental theological tenet inculcated by the PA media is that Jews -- even as individuals -- have no right to exist

Islam's War Against the Jews: Quotes from the Palestinian AuthorityPalestinian Media Watch presented a report in the Knesset detailing ongoing officially-taught hatred of Jews and Israel in the Palestinian Authority. The report, entitled "Kill a Jew - Go To Heaven," documents the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) ideology of hatred of Jews and Israel that is currently being taught in its schools and on its media. The report shows how the PA leadership mandates the killing of Jews - up to and including genocide - as a religious obligation. The report notes, "The murder of Jews is presented not only as beneficial to Muslims and Arabs, but as necessary for all humankind... These findings are based on a thorough study and analysis of eight years of official PA television and PA-controlled daily newspapers. This report documents how this hate ideology has been taught consistently for years, well before the war started in September 2000, and continues even after the death of Yassir Arafat." At the Knesset briefing to a group of 80 ambassadors and diplomats, Palestinian Media Watch Director Itamar Marcus presented many examples from the PA-controlled print and broadcast media, including numerous video excerpts. He showed the systematic way in which this hatred of Jews is promoted by the PA's religious, political and academic elites, and is taught via cultural, educational, religious and even entertainment frameworks.

‘Kill a Jew - Go to Heaven’

Palestinian TV, radio, newspapers and textbooks -- in teaching the Islamic attitude toward Jews -- have fueled an intense hatred for Israel and promoted violent jihad.

Marcus and Associate Director Barbara Crook authored the report. Minister of Diaspora Affairs Natan Sharansky requested the special presentation that Marcus gave the diplomats.  Minister Sharansky, together with Marcus, also presented “Kill a Jew - Go to Heaven” to the media this week in two separate press conferences. Minister Sharansky sharply attacked the PA, stating, “Even as the Palestinian Authority works to prevent a few hundred terrorists from attacking Jews and Israelis, it prepares hundreds of thousands more.” “As in Nazi Germany, there is an entire 'culture of hatred' in Palestinian society today, from textbooks to crossword puzzles, from day camps to TV music videos," Sharansky added, "and the end result is the calling for the murder of Jews as Jews." Marcus told Arutz-7: "There has been a drop in the number of incitement clips on PA television of late, but the message is no different. There are many articles giving the message that now is the time to reap the fruits of the past four years of violence. They call it resistance against Israel. There is no inkling of an indication that Israel has a right to exist." This week, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) toured PA Television studios, instructing the director to "transmit the reality as it is, without censorship or cosmetics." Gal Berger, of the News First Class website, reports, "Following Arafat's death, there were reports in the Arab Media that Abu Mazen had ordered an end to incitement against Israel in the Palestinian media. PA elements criticized him... Abu Mazen's remarks [to the TV director] are designed to be a response to the various critics on this matter." The full report "Kill a Jew - Go to Heaven" builds a detailed case - 18 pages of quotes and cartoons from PA television and print media - showing that the PA campaign against the Jews has three stages: 1-Stage 1 defines what characterizes the Jew - "defective, corrupt, descendants of monkeys and pigs, enemy of God, etc." 2-Stage 2 demonstrates how these characteristics endanger the world, as the Jews "plan and execute heinous crimes, cause wars and disasters, endanger all humanity." 3-Stage 3 instructs how to fight back against the Jews, by subjugating and killing them. "The International Herald wrote: "One of the most meaningful gauges of the integrity of a peace process and its likelihood for success is the degree to which the "peace partners" educate toward peace. It is for this reason that the entire education apparatus of the Palestinian Authority, both formal and informal, has been such a tragic disappointment. Instead of seizing the opportunity to educate the future generations to live with Israel in peace, the Palestinian Authority has done everything in its power to teach hatred to young minds. Since the hatred in the Palestinian textbooks was exposed and world pressure was mounted to eliminate the hatred, various defenders of the curriculum, like Roger Avenstrup ("Where is all that 'incitement?"' Views, Dec. 18) have surfaced, legitimizing the problematic education. The truth is that the Palestinian schoolbooks, both old and new, incite hatred, violence and anti-Semitism, and defenders are tragically enabling the Palestinian Authority to avoid necessary changes in its education system."

Itamar Marcus in his official report, wrote: " Throughout history, religious wars have been fought in the name of different gods. The premise of the Oslo Accords was that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was not an irreconcilable religious war, but one over borders. However, the Palestinian religious leaders, all appointees of the PA political leadership, are publicly preaching that the Israel-Palestinian conflict is part of Islam's eternal religious war against the Jews. Jews are portrayed as the eternal enemies of Allah, and the killing of Jews as Allah's will. On the national level, Allah prohibits acceptance of Israel's existence and will destroy it. This ideology is preached in sermons and religious lessons that are broadcast every Friday on official Palestinian TV and radio, and from the religious lessons appearing in PA newspapers and children's textbooks. The Palestinians have redefined the conflict from one over borders, in which compromise may be a solution, into a religious war in which compromise is heretical. The implications for future peace are ominous. This report is not brought as a critique of Islam's religious traditions, nor does it claim to represent authentic Islam. Rather it demonstrates the way Palestinian Authority religious leaders are selecting, interpreting and teaching Islam. Although Islam has positive references and traditions regarding Jews, the PA religious leaders have chosen to cite only negative references in their religious teaching, using the traditional sources to justify and even to demand uncompromising hatred of Jews and Israel."

PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY PERPETRATES EVILS IN THE NAME OF GOD

A dance segment on PA TV, filled with hatred for Israel, accuses the Jewish State of torturing and burning Arabs in the name of God - despite Abu Mazen's promise to remove such incitement.

Mahmood Abbas has assured Prime Minister Ariel Sharon that,  he will remove any and all materials which advocate the hatred of the Jews. But his promises are smoke in a heavy wind. Statements of hate and annihilation of the Jewish people are constantly broadcasted on the Palestinian-Arab television networks and affiliates. The most alarming display of hate was illustrated via a broadcasted song which encouraged the Palestinians to hate the Jewish people and accused the Israelis of killing, torturing, burning and exterminating Arabs, children and women in the name of God. The song came as a Palestinian popular expression as well as, an Islamic religious necessity for all Muslims. Songs of hatred are not a novelty on the Arab media and TV channels. But this time, as stated Palestinian Media Watch's Barbara Crook and Itmar Marcus, the song introduced a new nuance of hatred into Abbas controlled programs: The assertion that the alleged Israeli evils were perpetrated in the name of God.  Marcus and Crook said that the reasoning behind the new hate theme, could be the justification of the Palestinian Authority's portrayal of genocide as religious necessity -- the message here is that Israel is killing Palestinians in God's name." The aired Palestinian show began with a zoom in on a Palestinian woman writing the show title over a map of the entirety of Israel with an overlapped title/message: "ISRAEL IS OCCUPIED PALESTINE". The Palestinian Media Watch reported "that the PA teaches an ideology of virulent hatred of Jews and Israel that mandates the killing of Jews solely because they are Jews. The murder of Jews is presented not only as beneficial to Muslims and Arabs, but as necessary for all humankind. The above findings are based on a thorough study and analysis of eight years of official PA television and PA-controlled daily newspapers."

The lyrics of the Arab song:

O my God, hear my prayer,

Here I am O Lord, alive
In your name, my God, they tortured me
In your name, my God, they banished me
In your name they exterminated
In your name they ruled.

O my God, hear my prayer

...In your name, my God, they tortured me
In your name, my God, they banished me
In your name, they destroyed
In your name they ruled.

O my God, hear my prayer
In our homes they attacked us
They threatened us with destruction
They pushed us to annihilation.
