Whether she captures the human drama on happy and inquisitive faces, the infinity traveling over buildings, flags, crosses and clouds, the stagnant moment trapped between a pier's rope and an abandoned tire, Barbara Singer freezes and frees life. And this delights me and scares the hell out of me. And my heart rejoices, even in the fear, serenity and beauty Barbara finds in us and in the most simple tools, chairs, aprons, messy rooms and sober edifices, her camera captures. She is just reminding us of the verita humana and who we are. And thus, her art becomes immortal. For, immortality is part of what we believe in or think we do.
