The Point can be reached via car in six hours from Manhattan; three hours from Montreal; two-and-a-half hours from Burlington, Vermont; and three hours from Albany, New York. USAir flies into Saranac Lake several times a day from LaGuardia, Newark, Albany, and Burlington, Vermont. The Main Lodge has two wings with two guest rooms each. Situated in the center of the Main Lodge is the Great Hall, where guests gather to dine. The four guest rooms in the Main Lodge are: Mohawk, Iroquois, Morningside, and Algonquin. The Eagle's Nest houses three guest rooms, and the Pub. Sentinel and Lookout are upstairs, with Trappers and the Pub below. The Guest House is adjacent to the Main Lodge and contains three, unique guest rooms. Weatherwatch, Evensong, and Saranac.
The original master bedroom, Mohawk is a favorite of many guests. Perhaps the most secluded of all rooms, it has a cathedral ceiling, a king-size bed, a large stone fireplace, and beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There is a private door leading directly outside to its own sitting area, as well as one that opens to the Main Lodge. The bathroom retains its original fixtures, including a large bathtub; there is also a walk-in closet with a full-length mirror. A writing desk and a couch by the window complete the atmosphere of rustic elegance.
The Point's fleet of boats includes Adirondack guide boats, canoes, small outboards, sailboard, sunfish, and a Master-craft ski boat, as well as a classic mahogany Hackercraft and a 32-foot ELCO electric launch.
