NEXT STARS/CELEBRITIES OF THE YEAR FROM THE MOST BORING TO THE MOST TALENTED AND LUCKIEST CELEBRITIES
THEY ARE FAMOUS, BUT, THEY ARE NOT BETTER THAN YOU! There are 4 kinds of stars-entertainers in the world: 1-The talented; 2-The talented and the lucky; 3- The lucky; 4- The lucky and the boring. All, except the "unlucky" make money. Big time money. Millions and millions. Sometimes, the most boring ones are the luckiest and among the wealthiest. And this tragic reality has nothing to do with talent or lack of it. Many extremely talented artists will never see their names in light. They don't lack creativity or talent. They lack luck, a good agent, an effective publicist, a shrewd manager, good contacts, business and promotion strategy, and above all, they desperately need an "OPPORTUNITY", or a break. Results: They will remain for ever "talented struggling artists." Almost 89% of us believe that fame is a sign of success. And success is a fat bank account and public recognition. Name recognition, that is! And this is a catastrophe. This is a bleeding, bloody awful way to recognize talents. How many of you ever heard of Evangelos Petraki? None! I am absolutely sure, for Evangelos has never left Crete. He is a peasant, illiterate, poor, he pinches women in the derriere, constantly drinks Ouzo, dances the Sirtaki and...here is la piece de resistance: Probably, he is the best Bouzouki player in the world! But, Evangelos has no CDs, no agent in New York or California, he has never been written-up in the papers, he has never been interviewed by Joan Rivers or walked on a red carpet. But he is still the best damned Bouzouki player in the world. Nobody knows about him except his neighbors, the small village priest and a couple of bill collectors who are constantly chasing him. To all the glitters of the world, to all the marbles, to all the big stars shining on Broadway, to all the entertainment arrogant and heartless writers and critics and to all the makers and bakers, Evangelos and myself have five words to say: "We don't give a damn!". But, how many artists can afford to say this? Probably none. For,bills must be paid, a roof over your head is an utmost necessity and surviving is a priority. So what would you say about my friend Evangelos?
|
A failure or a third rate musician because he is unknown or simply an outstanding musician without luck? Would you consider him "nobody" because he is not a celebrity? Some would, especially those who book a show and those who invest in it. But, one thing is almost certain about Evangelos: He is not boring! So, for God's sake, do not tell me if this or that singer or this or that cabaret performer is not as famous as Britney Spears or Anna Nicole Smith, this super talented and obscure artist is "nobody" and not worthy of being invested in! Or writing about!! LAKY LUCK WILL KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR! Adnan Kachukji, the Arab billionaire was driving very slowly his Silver Shadow Rolls Royce, in Southern of France. He stopped his car for a few minutes. Walked out of the Rolls to have a glance at the breathtaking beauty of the French countryside. Four men, badly dressed, strange looking with long black hair passed by him and singing an unknown Basque tune (Half French-Half Spanish). And one of them was playing the guitar like crazy! They caught the attention of the Arab wizard. He approached them and asked them is they were professional entertainers. "Mais Oui, Bien Sur, of course" said one them. Kachukji asked the tallest of them :"Do you sing somewhere? ", and the gypsy replied "Not quite often. We need a job, a gig, anything." Those 4 gypsies were starving. They tried everything. They had remarkable talents as singers and guitarists, but could not make it. Kachukji saw the potentials in those 4 kids. He knew, investing in them could turn into a gold mine. Even though, they were completely and totally unknown, Kachukji took them under his wings, brought them to Paris, rented an apartment for them, gave them an advance and "start working on them". He called some big shots, some big time stage producers in Paris and Madrid and asked them to begin working on an unparallel stage production |
extravaganza for those kids. Against all the advice and recommendations he received from records producers, studios owners, stage managers and his own financial advisor, NOT to invest a penny in those filthy gypsies, Kachukji, went ahead with his show production backed by an aggressive global marketing and public relation campaign. Did you guess who those gypsies were? Those unknown, hungry and filthy gypsies? Guess again! They were, they still are -today- the same talented gypsies who played so well the guitar and sang formidable Spanish Fast Tempo Flamenco! They are the GYPSY KING! Nothing has changed with them or for them, except fame and fortune. They still play and sing the same way, they sang and played, before they became famous. Now, the whole world knows who they are. Now, they are the best of the best in their genre. They are living legends to billions of people around the world. They have name recognition. And they are highly respected, even adored by millions of fans. WHY? Because they are talented and KNOWN! Because, they are "CELEBRITY". They are famous! While unknown, nobody noticed them, despite their great talent. Lesson one: You need to be discovered. Lesson two: Be patient and wait as long as it takes. Lesson three: Never give up. Lesson four: Make noise! Talent without noise is a mute and a deaf talent. ABOUT THIS ARTICLE: It is a very long article. I did not say, a wonderful piece, just extensive. With the help of many contributors, writers, input from artists' agents, publicists, PR firms, venues, artistic managers, information and biographies directly obtained from artists and stars, my personal interviews with many of them, archives, news, reports, articles and data from various sites such as WACJ, a-y celebrities, all celebrities network, and of course gossips queens and writers, I was able to complete this extensive coverage. I tried to remain as objective as possible. One final major note: Just one day before this article was en route to print, I decided to "delete" the section on the most boring stars, for hurting people or ridiculing them is against my nature.

CELEBRITIES OF THE YEAR: FROM THE MOST BORING TO THE MOST TALENTED
MOST TALENTED AND LUCKIEST CELEBRITIES
ANGELINA JOLIE
BIOGRAPHY SYNOPSIS:
Angelina Jolie was born to actors Jon Voight
and Marcheline Bertrand (the couple divorced shortly thereafter) and began
her own acting career at age 5 alongside her Oscar-winning father in Lookin’
to Get Out (1980). The talented youngster enrolled in the Lee Strasberg
Theater Institute at age 11, and continued her career into her teens with
professional modeling and music video shoots. Already well-trained for the
stage and screen, she followed up the Strasberg education with film studies
at New York University and the Met Theatre Group in Los Angeles. She debuted
on stage in Room Service during that time, and was directed by her brother,
James Haven, in five student movies. The still teenaged Jolie spent the
next few years getting good reviews in good films of various quality. She
shone in Cyborg II: Glass Shadows (1993), Hackers (1995), Foxfire (1996),
Love Is All There Is (1996), Without Evidence (1995), Mojave Moon (1996),
Playing God (1997), George Wallace (TV - 1997 - for a Golden Globe win and
an Emmy nomination), True Women (TV - 1997), Playing by Heart (1998 - for a
National Board of Review Breakthrough Performance award), and Gia (TV - 1998
- for another Golden Globe, a Golden Satellite, a Screen Actors Guild award,
and a second Emmy nomination). That year she married fellow actor, Jonny Lee
Miller, and added unpredictability to her growing fame with her reported
wedding outfit -- black rubber pants and Miller’s name in blood on the co-ordinating
white shirt. The couple divorced a year later. Jolie just recently married
Billy Bob Thornton and sports his name on her person in tattoo ink. 1999
brought Pushing Tin (1999), Hell’s Kitchen (1999), The Bone Collector (1999)
and the much lauded Girl, Interrupted (1999 - for a Golden Globe, a Screen
Actors’ Guild award, a ShoWest award, and the big one: an Oscar for Best
Supporting Actress). The Oscar ceremony brought further notoriety to Jolie.
Critics sneered at her gothic get-up and her gushing adoration for Haven --
when folks can’t fault your performances, they’ll get you for brotherly
love. Upcoming for the actor are the films Dancing In The Dark, Gone In 60
Seconds, Tomb Raider and Along Came A Spider. She will assuredly be busy for
quite some time. At age 24, with the entertainment industry’s top awards on
her mantel and stellar talent to spare, Jolie is a Hollywood legend in the
making.

As I am speaking, Anna no longer has a coach and is trained by her mom. Also, in 1999, she made an important move going from IMG to Octogon for her agency. At Octogon, she is very well treated and her agent there is no one else than the big boss, Phil de Picciotto.

Alyssa Milano P.O. Box 3684, Hollywood CA 90078
Biography Synopsis: At home on stage, big and (especially) small screen, Alyssa Milano grew up in the public eye, but when it got just a little too public, she stopped pornographers in their tracks. Milano’s professional acting debut came at the age of eight, when she spent a year on tour with the Broadway hit, Annie (1980). She moved to roles in off-Broadway productions of Jane Eyre, Tender Offer, All Night Long and Warning Signals. It was in 1984 that she made her movie debut, in Old Enough, and her breakthrough television debut, playing Samantha in Who’s The Boss? for an eight-year run. During those years she was cast in the movies Commando (1995), The Canterville Ghost (TV - 1986), Driving School (TV - 1988), Dance ‘Til Dawn (TV - 1988), Speed Zone! (1989), Where The Day Takes You (1992), and Little Sister (1992). During ‘88 and ‘89 she tried her hand at self-titled music and self improvement videos for her teen peers with Alyssa Milano’s Teen Steam and Alyssa Milano: Look In My Heart. The now-veteran actor moved on to steady movie work with 1993's The Webbers, Double Dragon, Conflict of Interest, Confessions of a Sorority Girl (TV), Casualties of Love: The Long Island Lolita Story (TV), Candles In The Dark (TV), and 1994's spooky Embrace Of The Vampire. In 1995 she took on roles in The Surrogate (TV), Poison Ivy II: Lily, and Deadly Sins; and, in 1996, Public Enemies, Jimmy Zip, Fear, Glory Daze, and To Brave Alaska. In 1997, Milano was cast in another career-boosting TV series role as a way cool, sexy trouble-maker in Melrose Place, and continued her film career with Body Count and Hugo Pool. In 1998, it was back to Alaska with the TV drama Goldrush: A Real Life Alaskan Adventure, and then on to the dizzying success of the TV series, Charmed. That program, which follows the adventures of a trio of crime-fighting witch sisters, has the distinction (despite critics decrying “bad dialogue and laughable special effects”) of being the “most-watched Warner Bros. premiere ever.” Meanwhile, off camera, that year Milano successfully sued several Webmasters who had been posting her nude image illegally, and she used the proceeds to launch her own porn-free Internet enterprise. In 1999, Milano married, then divorced (11 months later), singer Cinjin August Tate. On camera, she was cast in Blink -182: The Urethra Chronicles and was, as well, the “star” of several provocative Candie’s fragrance ads, while becoming even more popular as the “wackiest wiccan” on Charmed. Upcoming for the actor in 2000 is the moo-vie, Buying The Cow and at least another season of Charmed. With her stunning beauty and admirable ambition, Milano is sure to enjoy a “charmed” future.

The fun, young and sexy collection, which offers sexy bikinis, one-piece suits, matching pants, hip cover-ups and tops, is currently being photographed for Sports Illustrated's upcoming swimsuit issue and will be available in better department stores and specialty boutiques in early 2003. In addition, Victoria's Secret will be offering one of the Barely Brooke collections in their ever-popular catalogue. Brooke most recently returned from Belize, where she was photographed for her 2003 calendar, which features her Barely Brooke swimwear designs. The calendar is now available in retail stores. In addition, E! will air a special on the making of the calendar in October, and a DVD version containing exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot will soon be available in stores and at www.BrookeBurke.com.

Raised
in Tucson, Arizona, Brooke developed an affinity for the desert as a child
and never envisioned herself as a Hollywood personality or television star.
"When I was young, I wanted to do something innocuous, like become a drummer
in a rock and roll band," says Burke, whose French, Irish and Portuguese
descent make up her stunningly exotic visage. Brooke was discovered by a
local Arizona modeling agency, after which she won an acting scholarship,
and soon moved to Los Angeles where she began her studies in broadcast
journalism at UCLA. While there, she signed contracts with several
prestigious modeling agencies that ultimately led to dozens of magazine
covers, billboards, swimsuit editorials, catalogues and posters. She has
also appeared in many popular television commercials. Despite her hectic
schedule, Brooke has found the perfect balance between motherhood, marriage
and career. Nothing is more rewarding than the quality time she spends at
home with her husband, Dr. Garth Fisher, and their young daughters Neriah
and Sierra Sky. Brooke enjoys doing pilates, taking long walks along
mountain trails or secluded beaches, preparing gourmet holiday meals for her
family and friends, and catching movies and plays. She regularly volunteers
with many charitable organizations including Athletes & Entertainers for
Kids and the Entertainment Industry Foundation. A portion of the proceeds
from her website sales are donated to the charities of her choice. We can be
certain that whatever undertaking is in the future for this remarkable
woman, it will be awe-inspiring. "I never intended to make the cross-over
from modeling to hosting, let alone into acting or writing, but when an
incredible opportunity comes along, I'm all for it," she concludes. And the
sky's the limit for this gorgeous and talented ingénue for whom film,
television and entertainment portals continue to open.

Those last few years of work, including many appearances as presenter and host of various events, were completed while Shields was starring in her own successful television sitcom, Suddenly Susan (1996). All that doesn’t leave much time for “real” life but the odd thing did crop up in the news. Off-camera Shields married tennis star Andre Agassi in 1997, divorcing him in 1999. She successfully sued a British tabloid for libel in 1998, and tactfully handled the death by suicide of Susan co-star, David Strickland, in 1999. Shields is author of two books, The Brooke Book and On Your Own. She has even taken to the stage, in a Broadway revival of Grease. Coming up for the performer are the independent films After Sex and Black and White. She’s doing just fine, it seems, for a Worst Actress. So she’s not the most natural of actors. Some of the “somethings” she does have are charisma, highly photogenic beauty and driving ambition. It’s all working very well.
