Abbas wants all armed groups disbanded after January elections: aide. JERUSALEM- Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas will demand that all armed groups in the Gaza Strip represented in the new parliament disband immediately after Palestinian elections in January, a top aide said Wednesday, outlining what he described as a new security plan. The aide, Rafiq Husseini, said the Palestinian Authority waited for the Israelis to withdraw from Gaza before implementing the plan. Egyptian troops allow Palestinians to cross border from Gaza for second day...With the Israelis gone, Gazans dug under walls and climbed over barriers to get to Egypt. RAFAH, Egypt- Egyptian troops allowed elated Palestinians to flood across the border from Gaza for a second day Tuesday, heightening Israeli concerns that the crossing will become more porous and allow weapons to make their way to militants. But Palestinian and Egyptian commanders decided to close the Gaza-Egypt border by Wednesday evening, said Jamal Kaed, the Palestinian security commander of southern Gaza, effectively allowing one more day for crossings. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas said in a televised speech later Tuesday that he would take immediate steps to impose order in chaotic Gaza. Foreign Ministry Follows Up the Issue of Jordanian Prisoners in Israel. AMMAN, Jordan, (Petra - Jordan News Agency)-- The Foreign Ministry said, in a press statement issued on Thursday, that it follows up, through the  Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv, the issue of the Jordanian prisoners in Israel, pointing that this issue tops the priorities of the Ministry. '' The embassy contacts the Israeli side intensively and continually to end this issue and release the prisoners,'' the statement added. It also noted that the staff of the Jordanian embassy visit the prisoners at the Israeli jails frequently to check their conditions. Regarding the health of prisoner Sultan Al Ajlouni, the statement clarified that Ajlouni enjoys a good health and he is currently at Hadarem Jail, south of Tel Aviv, pointing that the Jordanian Embassy in Tel Aviv will follow up his health file.

RAFAH, (WAFA-PLO news agency)- President Mahmoud Abbas, Monday raised the flag of Palestine at Rafah Crossing at the border line with Egypt. He told reporters that such moment is undesirable, affirming that such happiness would be not complete as long as Jerusalem is still under Israeli occupation. President's Abbas visit to Rafah is a part of his tour in the evacuated colonies in Gaza. Minister of Interior, Nasr Youssef, Secretary General of Presidency, Tayyeb Abdulrahim , Head of the PLO Negotiations Affairs Department, Dr. Saeb Ereikatand other Palestinian officials, accompanied the President. Thousands of the celebrating citizens and children were welcoming President Abbas and praising his efforts for the Palestinian people and peace. They threw flowers at his convoy. The citizens cheered when President affirmed that the step after the Israeli evacuation is the political work for the return of refugees, ending colonization in the West bank and establishing the Palestinian state. Before his visit to Rafah, President Abbas said that there are several issues, relevant to the Israeli evacuation from Gaza, are still debatable with no solution. During his tour in the evacuated colonies at the northern tip of Gaza Abbas asserted that the issues of the airport and the border crossings have not been solved yet. While he was touring the areas were known as "Duggit colony", President stressed the integrity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. He also reiterated that the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) refuses turning Gaza into a "big prison." President Abbas reiterated that the PNA would focus on ending the Israeli  occupation in the West Bank and establishing the Palestinian state with  Jerusalem as its capital.

PLO REFUSES ISRAELI PRESENCE IN CROSSING POINTS

GAZA, (WAFA - PLO news agency)- The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee (EC) refused any Israeli presence and control of Gaza crossing points. In a meeting on Sunday in Gaza city headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, the EC. said that such Israeli presence constitutes a breach of all international legitimacy standards and human rights laws. During the meeting, Abbas discussed the latest developments in the Occupied  Palestinian Territories (OPT), the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza Strip (GS) and parts of the West Bank (WB) and the Palestinian security preparations to assume responsibility over the evacuated areas. The EC added that Israelis are planning to consecrate the occupation through imposing a total siege around Gaza to turn it into a big prison, and to hinder any future developments. It also called on the Palestinian people and factions to participate in the  forthcoming national celebrations to confirm that the Palestinians will not  give up the path of ending occupation and establishing the Palestinian  independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

One Palestinian Killed an Another Injured as IOF 'disengage'

Palestinian Centre for Human Rights News: PCHR calls for an immediate investigation into the killing and injury of two Palestinian civilians on the border between the Gaza strip and Egypt. Today as Israeli forces completed their redeployment to the border areas of  the Gaza Strip on Monday the 12th of September, 2005 one Palestinian youth was killed and another was injured while they were standing beside their home in the al Salam quarter of south-east of Rafah town, adjacent to the border with Egypt. According to initial investigations by PCHR at about 15.00, Nafez Adnan A'tia, 34 years old, a resident of Rafah town, came under fire at al Salam quarter. A'tia was injured while he was crossing the border from Egyptian Rafah to Palestinian Rafah (Rafah was divided in due as a result of the Camp David Accords between Egypt and Israel) he was injured by a bullet in the eye and a bullet in his left hand.  He died instantly. Mohammad Fa'isal Abu Ta'ha, 22 years old, a resident of the same area was
injured by a gunshot in the left thigh while he was standing on the Palestinian side of the border. Both Egyptian and Palestinian sides of Rafah saw attempts by large numbers of civilians today in an attempt to see relatives on the other side of the border - many of them have not been able to see each other since the Intifada broke out and Israel imposed severe collective punishment measures on the civilian population. At the time of the incident both Egyptian and Palestinian forces had deployed in and around the border areas.  No one from these forces prevented Palestinians from reaching the others. PCHR condemns this killing and calls for an immediate investigation into it and the circumstancessurrounding it.  PCHR insists that the results of the investigation be made public and the perpetrators of this act be brought to justice.

 

Syrian Anti-Terror Forces Kill  Five Members of Terrorist Group.

DAMASCUS,  ( SANA-Syrian News Agency )- Syrian anti-terror forces raided a hideout of  a terrorist group belonging to a terrorist organization called 'Jund al-Sham'in Hama , northwestern Syria  yesterday evening, an official source at the Interior Ministry announced Saturday." A clash took place between our forces and the terrorists during which all five members of the group were killed and two security men  were  wounded ," the source said. The source clarified that the terrorist group had taken an isolated house, in Jibrin village, as a base for their moves and operations. "Our forces found in that place weapons, bombs and explosives  belonging to that group," the source added. The group was about to carry out terrorist attacks to destabilize security and stability of the Syrian society.

Palestinian Security Takes Over Rafah Terminal.

GAZA, (WAFA-PLO News Agency) -Palestinian security sources said Monday that the Palestinian security forces took over Rafah terminal, south Gaza Strip. The sources added that the civil employees of the crossing will carry out their work as of today morning, simultaneously the crossing will be blocked until a settlement will be reached on its fate. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior called on citizens not to approach Abu Holy checkpoint, Central Gaza Strip, as Israeli troops open random fire at any one who tries to approach.

Deputy Prime Minister Rejects Israeli Existence in Rafah Crossing.

GAZA, (WAFA-PLO News Agency)- Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Nabil Sha'ath, reiterated on Thursday the Palestinian rejection of moving Rafah crossing to a different site. He asserted that Rafah Crossing (the only point linking Gaza with the entire world) should be under full Palestinian sovereignty. Sha'ath told reporters, in Gaza, that the Egyptian envoy, Minister Omar Suleiman, has relayed to the Israeli side a Palestinian- Egyptian determination that rejects any Israeli existence in the Crossing. He expressed his hope that the Egyptian leadership would reach an agreement over the issue.

Dr. Shaath Receives Palestinian-Israeli Media Delegation.

GAZA,(WAFA-PLO news agency)- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information Nabil Shaath received Saturday a delegation of heads radios and media institutions from the Palestinian citizens of Israel. During the meeting, which was held at the Dr. Shaath's office in Gaza, they discussed the ways possible to boost the relations between the Palestinian people in the territories of the Palestinian National Authority, Israel and the exile. Dr. Shaath called for putting up a mechanism to anchored in a database to reinforce the these relations and to meet the information needs of the Palestinian-Israeli journalists. He mentioned that the Palestinian media, such as the TV corporation, is in a pressing need for such a mechanism. Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the steadfastness of the Palestinian citizens of Israel and their struggle to get their rights of full citizenship in Israel.
