FANCY LIVING MAGAZINE. NOV. 2005. P.95

THE WORST DRESSED FEMALE STARS AND CELEBRITIES IN AMERICA         They have money but no taste and no style! They are still the same since 2002.

Photos from L to R: Christina Aguilera, Heather Graham, Juliette Lewis

#1. Although "dressed" really doesn't describe Christina Aguilera this year, we think she still deserves a spot on this list. From the boob sling she fashioned from a scarf for the MTV Video Music Awards to those butt-bearing chaps she sports in her appropriately titled "Dirrty" video, Aguilera certainly gets an A+ in the less-is-more school of fashion. On the makeup front, unfortunately, Aguilera doesn't adhere to the same minimalist philosophy. Pancake face makeup and way-overdone eyes make us wonder what she's trying to hide. Finally, the new two-toned skunk hair really stinks. #2. Heather Graham. All Heather needed this year was a little more support. Whether in racy red silk or blue beaded Badgley Mischka, Graham opted to let it all hang out in 2002, eschewing underwire for a more au naturel look. Even outfits that offered a bit more coverage, like a high-necked Versace halter dress (in an ooky green floral print), somehow managed to make this blonde bombshell look schlumpy. When Graham did decide to sport the necessary support this year, like at the Love Rocks Concert, her red bra was peeking out of a frilly midriff-baring white blouse. We have high hopes for 2003 though, as long as this thirty-something finds some age-appropriate lingerie under the tree this year.
#3. Juliette Lewis. Juliette Lewis is no natural born dresser, and her stylist better be getting a pink slip for the holidays. First and foremost, the Gray Ant ensemble she chose for the Enough premiere should have been exterminated long before it crawled anywhere near a red carpet. The chocolate brown "pantsuit" -- complete with unflattering split-leg pants and a bizarre ruffled backless halter top -- was sincerely atrocious. Lewis was also quite taken with the man's tie in 2002, pairing it with everything from short shorts and knee socks, to a very '80s mini-skirt and pumps ensemble, to black pants at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. It didn't work, not once.

Photos from L to R: Angie Harmon, Brittany Murphy

#1. When you hit the social circuit as much as this ubiquitous party guest, you're bound to suffer some fashion misses. Unfortunately for Harmon, this year they outnumbered her hits, the coup de grace being the over-the-top ensemble that she chose for the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards in October. A Roberto Cavalli glitter-infused corseted mini-dress, accessorized with an enormous flowing wrap, looked fit for a drag queen rather than a fashion diva, and was a major departure from her usual fare: classically elegant Vera Wang or Oscar de la Renta. A few weeks later, perhaps to compensate for that inappropriate display of skin, Harmon appeared at a Louis Vuitton event in New York in a frumpy black elastic-waist dress, thick black tights and clunky tall black leather boots. Didn't you learn anything on Law & Order, Angie? Two wrongs do not make a right. #2. Brittany Murphy. There's another Brittany on the worst dressed scene (but don't worry Miss Spears, you'll always be the first fashion faux pas in our hearts). Eminem's 8 Mile co-star Brittany Murphy has made quite a media splash in 2002, but seen little success on the style front. Perhaps it's her ever-diminishing figure that makes this starlet so startling, but her fashion choices sure don't help. In particular, the itsy-bitsy mini-skirts she favors just don't flatter those too-thin legs. At the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards, a teeny glittering slip dress, strangely accessorized with a large feather pouf tied around her neck, looked like it was going to slip right off her slight frame. In a more casual ensemble at the Phat Farm fashion show in New York this fall, Murphy flaunted her figure front row in a pink and gold mini-skirt, gold stilettos, cropped white tank and pink velour jacket -- taking her 8 Mile character's trailer trash persona a bit too far perhaps? #3. Britney Spears. This year sure didn't compel Britney Spears to assume a new grown-up style aesthetic. For the premiere of Crossroads, for example, Britney chose an outfit more than worthy of the box-office bomb: a pale pink ruched mini-dress over denim leggings, with rose-colored knee-high stiletto boots and a vinyl newsboy cap to match. Justin Timberlake on her arm was the best accessory she had going. And after her break with Timberlake, Britney's style got even more out of sync.
